1. To engage in a fun day climb with minimal preparation/pressure
2. To create and provide a venue for climbers to enhance relationship
3. Gather trash along trail and at summit/peak

ITINERARY (Rockies)

 

0430 Meet at Jam Liner EDSA between Kamuning and Timog, Quezon City
0500 Board Lemery-bound bus for Cuenca, Batangas
0730 ETA Cuenca town center (7-11), walk or take tricycle to jump-off, register at the barangay outpost
0800 ETA Mountaineers' Store (jump off), breakfast
0830 Commence trek
1115 ETA campsite, head to Rockies, take photos
1200 Descend back to campsite, set up temp shelter, lunch, gather trash
1400 Commence descent, collect trash on the way down
1600 ETA jump-off (Mountaineers' Store), tidy up, take tricycle to bus stop at town center, post-climb somewhere
1900 ETA Manila

WHAT TO BRING

1. Day pack - fully waterproofed with day climb essentials
2. 2 liters of water
3. Packed breakfast and lunch (can have breakfast at bus stop or Mountaineers' Store)
4. Umbrella/raincoat
5. Personal meds and first aid kit
6. Trash bag

SAFETY CONCERN

 

When trekking via the saddle from the campsite to the Rockies, safely precaution must be observed due to steep, rocky and slippery trail. Plus, the top of Rockies itself is not wide and overlooks a steep cliff. Avoid getting near the edge of the Rockies to prevent falling.
